Stenciling ideas, news, and commentary.

Talk about stenciling today, brought to you by stencilsearch.com.

Here at StencilTalk, we love stenciling. And thanks to Valentine's Day, February is full of love. Putting the two together, this month we bring you a daily series of "Stenciling We Love". Each day features a new project by a different artist. These may be stenciling examples that we love, or projects the artists themselves love. Either way, we're willing to bet you'll find something to love among this collection of posts.

Liquid Beadz

Recently, while working on some new sample boards in my studio, I discovered a wonderful product to create elegant stencil designs. Liquid Beadz™ are tiny beads mixed into an adhesive gel-like base, made by DecoArt. I’ve had a small one ounce container on my shelf for several months, just waiting for me to finally come up with a use for this product. The instructions on the jar/packaging say to use a palette knife to spread the Beadz, but for doing my sample, I found a small, plastic trowel or a credit card worked best.

For my sample board, I used Adicolor’s Desire’ Luxury Gold and silver Beadz. I think this would look fabulous in a Powder Room!

I like the idea of using a simple design such as this one or a small Fleur de Lis in an allover repeat pattern. Here you can see one full design and the remnants of 2 more designs as they would be repeated on a wall.

Beadz come in several colors and are currently on sale at 75% off on DecoArt’s website. I ordered every color to do some further experimenting. Beadz can be used on fabric, wood, or walls. My sample dried to a very hard and durable finish with no sealing.
