Can anyone help me out and tell me if it is possible to Stencil a bathroom vanity top? Is it a good idea if it is possible? and is it something a beginner should tackle?

Eric,

What type of surface is it? Laminate?

I know these type of countertops can be faux finished with permenamels, but I'm not sure about stenciling. I assume you want to keep the existing color/pattern and stencil on top of that?

Is your top laminate or tile? You can use Permenamels but you must rigorously follow their exact procedures and use all there products ONLY! No substitutions. If you are stenciling with PE, you should use small cosmetic sponges rather than brushes, as this will give you a more uniform look and better coverage. It might take several passes to get the color to be as intense as you want, depending on the color of the top.
